I wish I asked for names but one woman stayed with me in the room the whole time just to make me feel better, but I did great! No medication, no stopping the scan - it was so quick I think my whole scan was less than 20 minutes and that’s only because I had to redo a 90 second scan because I moved a little so it was probably closer to 15. For my test and the location of the coils I could not listen to music and I STILL got through it without even feeling like I needed to push the panic button. The staff was so kind, didn’t make me feel embarrassed or difficult for any of my questions or concerns, and the entire process in the Open MRI was so smooth. I can not take acute anxiety medication and this MRI has been put off so many times because I was so sure I’d have a panic attack in the middle of it.
When I tell you I cried in the waiting room, the whole way to my appointment, and for several days before I mean it.
